What sizes of containers do you have, and how much do they hold?
- 8’x5’ will hold various items
- 8’x10’ will generally hold the contents of an average one-bedroom apartment
- 8’x20’ will generally hold the contents of an average two- to three-bedroom home (no major appliances)
- 8’x40’ will generally hold the contents of an average four- to six-bedroom home with appliances
What does storage cost, and how do I pay?
Different-sized on-site storage containers, outdoor storage spots, climate-controlled, and delivered containers will vary in price. Please call or email for a quote.
We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, debit, cash, cheques, and EFT.
If I have a container delivered to my house, how long do I have to pack it?
As much time as you need! When you are ready to have the container picked up, please call us at least 48 hours prior to your desired pickup date.
What are the containers made of? Are they weatherproof?
Containers are made of steel and are leak-proof and weatherproof.
Do cars fit in a container? Do the containers have ramps?
Yes, cars fit in containers—they are great for seasonal storage! We will provide ramps with prior notice.
How far in advance can I make a reservation?
We will accept reservations 30 days in advance.
How long are contracts?
Most contracts are for a minimum one-month term and renew monthly. Please ask about long-term contracts and rates.
How much notice do you need to cancel a contract?
We ask for 30 days’ written notice.
What kind of documentation do I need to give to rent a storage unit?
A government-issued driver’s licence. Please discuss with us if you don’t have a driver’s licence.
Do you have access to my storage unit? Do you provide locks? Can I give access to my family and friends?
You can provide your own lock or purchase one of ours. We do not have access to your unit, as you have the only keys. If you want your friends or family to have access to your unit, you can provide them with a key and specify to us who has access. We can set them up with an access code.
What if I lose the keys to my storage unit or forget my access code?
Call U-NEED Storage during regular business hours (Monday – Friday, 9:15 am to 5:00 pm) for assistance.
How does your “Best Rate Guarantee” work?
Present us with a current written quote from another storage yard in the same area, and we will beat it.
