How to Properly Store Your Antiques

What type of stuff could you store in your storage container?

If you own any antiques, you know how delicate and special they can be. Many people choose to display their antiques in their homes as conversation starters or pieces of art. But what do you do when you want to store your antiques? Here are some tips on how to properly store your antiques.

The first thing you need to do is find a storage space that is cool, dry, and dark. An attic or basement usually works well for this but a storage container is a great choice for your antiques. You also want to make sure that the storage space is free of any pests or insects that could damage your antiques and our storage options are air tight and clean.

Next, you need to choose the right containers for your antiques. cardboard boxes are not recommended because they are not sturdy enough and they can attract pests. Instead, opt for plastic totes with lids. You can also use plastic bags, but make sure to wrap your items in acid-free tissue paper first. This will help prevent your items from tarnishing or discoloration over time.

Finally, make sure to label all of your boxes and containers so that you know what is inside of them. This will save you a lot of time and frustration down the road when you are looking for something specific.

Storing your antiques doesn't have to be difficult or expensive. By following these simple tips, you can rest assured knowing that your treasured possessions are safe and sound. So next time you need to clear some clutter from your home, don't forget about your precious antiques!
